Girls, you're funny, cause the most clever of those ladies make more money in 1 month than any of you in 1 year. Yet, you treat them like defensless preys.
Obviously, you dont know what you're talking about, appart from remote testimonies you've carefuly picked, and some fantasies you've made up. For example, the girls in the article, depicted as "underage", are in fact way above 18.
I'd advise you to visit Thaïland, and experiment. It's an incredible country, if you open your mind and treat its people as human, and not underlings unable to defend themselves.
Then, you may discover disgusting thing, yes. But you could be surprised how "sex predators", end up "sex predated", ruined by innocent-looking girls they wished to posess for a night. But, above all, you could meet the most incredible smiles of the world. Girls serving drinks in the street, of men riding motor bikes, sometimes you would wonder how their big hearts could fit in their ribcage. They would smile, tease or mock you with disarming spontaneity.
Something we lost in the west.

I find it particularly sad that people from developed countries are traveling to an impoverished country like Cambodia to prey on children. Cambodians generally look up to foreigners, particularly Westerners, as role models for fairness, benevolence, freedom and justice. The acts of the sex tourists are threatening to undermine the good deeds of those foreigners who are in Cambodia to do good.

Glad somebody mentioned this!! (Also glad I learned the average age is 17. That's... surprising.)

I have no problem with my future kids having my future husband's name - it's too long and complicated if they take both - but I'd like to keep my own name. I'd like to stay me.

Just for the record - Einstein was NOT an atheist. He believed that God created everything and all that but didn't believe in the rest of it - i.e. creationism, Jesus, the Virgin Mary. but he did believe in God.

But I agree: there shouldn't be any problem with being an atheist. It's just as respectable as being religious and people should respect it without making any wrong assumptions.

"My religion consists of a humble admiration of the illimitable superior spirit who reveals himself in the slight details we are able to perceive with our frail and feeble mind." - Einstein

"A man's ethical behavior should be based effectually on sympathy, education, and social ties; no religious basis is necessary. Man would indeed be in a poor way if he had to be restrained by fear of punishment and hope of reward after death." - also Einstein

"The further the spiritual evolution of mankind advances, the more certain it seems to me that the path to genuine religiosity does not lie through the fear of life, and the fear of death, and blind faith, but through striving after rational knowledge." - Einstein again

GAAAAAAAAAHH! What is wrong with the world? Forget the fact that the topics aren't even liberal; who cares if they encourage kids to be liberal? The only people this matters to are the people at FOX news.

Modern literature is good too, you know. I'd even argue that's it can sometimes be better than classics because it directly relates to current events. Not that classics aren't great, but like you said, those were for high school, NOT summer reading in college.

I can't believe they even reported on this. Being multicultural and exploring modern literature is a GOOD thing.

Hilarious and so true! Navigating environmental issues is always a little difficult, especially when you hate conflict. I for one hate saying anything to people because they might not even care about the environment in the first place, in which case my argument was completely wasted and I feel ridiculous

It seems obvious, but I'm glad someone mentioned it. The stereotype that you have to be married to live happily ever after has persisted too long.

Just don't couplist either, alright? (Joking. Although that's very hard to convey through text...)

Hey Serena - I agree that militarizing the US even MORE than it already is is a terrible idea. I'm the first person to tell you that war is the worst thing about mankind. However, I still think that the repeal of DADT is still a victor, albeit a very minor one, because the LGTB should have the right to join the military.

You're absolutely right that the military itself should not be the main focus point of the government, especially since there's no law about discriminating against gay people for normal jobs, but i still think that it's a step in the right direction, no matter how small it may be.

However, I still think that the repeal of DADT is still a victor, albeit a very minor one, because the LGTB should have the right to join the military.

You’re absolutely right that the military itself should not be the main focus point of the government, especially since there’s no law about discriminating against gay people for normal jobs, but i still think that it’s a step in the right direction, no matter how small it may be.

Really good article, I'm glad someone's being realistic about this issue.

I'd like to point out that in France, there are many "unwed mothers" *cringe* because many couples decide not to get married because there isn't any government incentive. In France, the public education system and the public health system are both EXCELLENT - I'm not saying that the public education system and the public health system in the US are bad, I'm just saying that the ones in France are really really good - and so even if the father doesn't provide financial support, the mother can still do fine on her own. This isn't the mother's fault; it's just the way the country works.

On a completely unrelated note: I know a lot of couples who waited until their kids were old enough to enjoy the wedding to get married - so about 20 years old - and it didn't even occur to anybody that it was an issue.

I know I've written basically an entirely novel here - sorry I got a bit carried away, but thanks for reading. I just wanted to say that whoever wrote that article in the Los Angeles Times is probably getting a LOT of hate mail from annoyed "unwed mothers" *cringe*

Well folks,I think I've just met my next current girlfriend and guess what???She was the one that greeted me or should I say approached me first etc.I guess it depends on the situation because with with my last relationship that I had it was I who did the approaching and not the other way around so... why not have women open to the game of approaching?..I mean when I had "Janet"say hello to me it was like.."alright yeah baby here I come"chit chatted with her for about an hour and then gave her one of my personal cards and voila it was done!Come on women of the world...say hello, smile or go right out and jump on the man(now I think that might maybe be a little bit too extreme but I beleive that they're are definitely some men that would probably like that also!)that appeals to you because you just might never know what it could lead to!
