About Mike Zmolek

Mike Zmolek received his PhD from York University in Toronto in 2009. His dissertation is an exploration of the origins of the Industrial Revolution in Britain titled "Rethinking the Industrial Revolution." His first book, titled "Custom's Last Stand" is presently under review by a publisher. Mike's history as a progressive activist includes involvement in the movement to abolish Apartheid in South Africa, the struggle against tuition hikes as a graduate student in Canada and serving as the national coordinator for the National Network to End the War Against Iraq from 2001 to 2004. As a legislative assistant for Rep. Cynthia McKinney (GA), Mike spent a year in Congress pushing for action to aid the survivors of Hurricane Katrina and assisted in the drafting of articles of impeachment against George W. Bush and Richard B. Cheney.

As with so many crises involving the weather, there is no way to clearly identify the recent flooding in Pakistan as something resulting directly from global climate change.  Nor is there any way to prove that it is not.
