About Gail Margolies Reid, CPA
Gail Reid is a CPA and consultant who has dedicated her entire 30 year career to working with small business owners. After working for Arthur Andersen & Company in the mid-1980s, she founded her own CPA firm in 1987. For the next 21 years Ms. Reid built her CPA practice with a specialty in small businesses. She has advised hundreds of companies, from start up through liquidation. She sold her practice in 2008 to focus on writing about her experiences with the goal of helping hopeful entrepreneurs succeed in the real world of small business.
Ms. Reid places a high value on volunteerism and community involvement and has served on the boards of several not-for-profit organizations, including It’s the Journey, Inc. which has raised over $5.5 million dollars through its sponsorship of the Atlanta 2 Day Walk for Breast Cancer and the Museum of Contemporary Art of Georgia, where she continues to serve on the Board of Directors.
In March 2010, Ms. Reid published her first book, The Idiot’s Guide to Low-Cost Startups, which offers over 100 ideas to start a small business under $1,000. Ms. Reid is a guest lecturer and teacher on topics related to entrepreneurship, growing your business, and small business management.
