Kaska Hass’ High Eco Fashion Spring/Summer ’12 collection brought a light and breezy energy to the Lavera Showfloor in Berlin. Inspired by wind energy, Hass designed pieces that were as jagged as wind turbines and gathered in ways that created an airy buoyancy. Crisp organic cotton items looked as fluffy as freshly washed laundry and were juxtaposed with flowy eco-silk that, when models twirled on the runway, seemed to display a transference of energy from wearer to garment.

Calming pastel earth tone and dusty brown garments were cleverly given small punches of bright red and lime green. White ensembles were crisp, full of texture, and inspired a cheerful mood. Solid and striped button ups were an avant garde twist on business casual with sharp pleating, asymmetric shapes, and deconstructed tailoring.

The collection’s women’s wear was more playful and full of movement compared to the menswear. Women’s garments came in voluminous silhouettes with various tucks, gathers, pleats, and ruffles. Though a few pieces had some texture and volume, the collection’s menswear was more subdued, using khaki pants for many looks.

Kaska Hass developed a High Eco Fashion collection for Spring/Summer ’12 that is calm in color, yet lively. Though the menswear only represents a small fraction of that energy, the womenswear captures it all with various textures, splashes of pop color, and plenty of movement.
